Foxconn in Taiwan Deployed Nakivo

Business Challenge
Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd.) is one of the largest contract electronics manufacturers in the world, headquartered in Taiwan.

It owns over 50,000 patents with annual revenue surpassing $200 billion in 2022. It is one of the company’s factories in Mexico, manufacturing medical devices and consumer electronics.

It operates from 2 sites, with 150 physical servers and 400 VMs. The VMs store databases, file servers, web application services, SQL and Oracle databases. Downtime and data loss can impact the manufacturing processes detrimentally; thus, backup and recovery services should be in place to support 24/7 operations.

Foxconn BC protected its environment by using another VM backup solution. However, licensing and annual maintenance costs proved to be a burden for the company. Recovery was slow, with no automation options. A new solution had to offer faster recovery times and provide cost-efficient licensing.
