Pleiotek Assigned Patent

Wearable storage and transmission device for processing sensor data

Pleiotek, Bethesda, MD, has been assigned a patent (11620461) developed by Temkin, Joshua Michael, and Temkin, Melissa Greenfield, Bethesda, MD, for “wearable data storage and transmission device for processing sensor data.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “An attachable data system for tracking items includes a microprocessor, a power supply configured to supply power to the microprocessor, a memory communicatively connected to the microprocessor, a Bluetooth communications module, and an NFC module. The NFC module performs operations including establishing an NFC field with an NFC initiator device in response to receiving an NFC signal from the NFC initiator device via the NFC antenna, extracting identifying information from the NFC signal, and storing the identifying information in the NFC memory. The microprocessor is configured to perform microprocessor operations including accessing the identifying information stored in the NFC memory, and causing a transmission of the identifying information using the Bluetooth communications module.

The patent application was filed on 2022-02-28 (17/682943).
