CloudFest USA: Swissbit Showcasing Data Center Application Optimized SSD

Including 2.5-inch U.3 SSD enterprise-grade 3D-TLC-NAND up to 15.4TB SSD with 4-lane PCIe interface to PCIe 4.0 spec for up to 8,000MB/s bandwidth in both directions

Swissbit AG will be participating at the inaugural US-hosted CloudFest USA 2023 in Austin, TX, from May 31 to June 3, 2023.

Swissbit Cloudfast 2305

The company will be showcasing its solutions for data center applications at the infrastructure event for the hosting and cloud industries. The highlight of the show will be the N4200 SSD series developed for data center application profiles. The firm will be demoing its latest technology live at its booth to illustrate how improved efficiency is achieved by using SSDs optimized to a specific customer application profile.

At the end of 2022, the company entered the data center market with the introduction of its U.3 N4200 solution that offers a constant write speed that is 2 to 5x higher than standard data center SSDs while maintaining a consistently low latency and high endurance over the SSD’s entire service life. While commercially available, SSDs suffer declines in performance, endurance, and response time over extended periods, the firm takes a novel approach with the N4200. The SSDs distinctive firmware enables it to be optimized for specific application profiles, matching performance and endurance to the actual workload of a customer application.

Workload-specific firmware configurations
In addition to the default configuration, customers have a choice of predefined workload clusters, such as big data, video streaming, or ML. The N4200 is able to measure its workload during operation. The company uses this measurement as a starting point to offer a workload analysis as an additional option, together with a firmware configuration that is optimized to meet the requirements of the specific customer application. With no host modifications required, the firm developed this solution to handle complex cloud applications, producing an industry’s stable throughput and lowest latency under true customer workloads.

The 2.5-inch U.3 SSD is based on enterprise-grade 3D-TLC-NAND (eTLC), is backward compatible with U.2, and features a 4-lane PCIe interface to PCIe 4.0 spec for up to 8,000 MB/s bandwidth in both directions.

The N4200 is available with storage capacities of 7.68 and 15.4TB.
