History 2001: Virtualization Companies Become Real
Pioneers being DataCore and FalconStor
By Jean Jacques Maleval | April 19, 2023 at 2:01 pmThere’s a high-speed chase on between DataCore Software and FalconStor Software, 2 pioneers of virtualization, to sign OEM accords, either for distribution or partnerships vis-a-vis their respective software, SANsymphony and IPStor.
FalconStor’s most recently signed customers: AnexTEK Global, Asahi Electronics, Broadband Media, Distrilogie, DotHill, Imperial Technology, Mark III Systems, MTI, Rare Systems, StorageTek and Tivoli.
With DataCore, they are Atempo, BakBone Software, Digital Storage, Fujitsu Softek, SANcastie and StorageTek (in Australia and New Zealand only).
Strengthened by its entry on the stock market, FalconStor is slowly deploying throughout the world. It has just officially entered the Canadian market with the addition of business partners Bell Microproducts Canada and Legacy Storage Systems, and the appointment of Mira Sharma as country manager. The company also opened an office in Germany headed by Guy Merlo, formerly with Auspex, and another one in UK managed by David Parker who was previously with Shuttle Technology and then St. Bernard Software.
