History 2001: Werner Heid from Board Member to CEO of Iomega

Replacing Bruce Albertson

If you want something done right, do it yourself.

Iomega did not look far afield for its new president and CEO, the 3rd in 2 years, replacing Bruce Albertson.

HeidThe top spot has now been assumed by German-born Werner Heid, who has sat on the company’s board since May 2000.

He spent the first 12 years of his career marketing Hewlett-Packard printers in Europe and, since 1994, in USA. Four years later, he was president of Proxima, a maker of multimedia projectors that merged with InFocus, where he became executive VP of WW sales, marketing and service.

This article is an abstract of news published on issue 162 on July 2001 from the former paper version of Computer Data Storage Newsletter.

Note: Heid was also from 2015 to 2021 CEO of Printronix LLC.
