Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP is doubling the maximum throughput capacity per file system from 2 to 4 GB/s and the maximum SSD IO/s from 80,000 to 160,000, enabling to accelerate performance-intensive workloads such as video rendering and database applications.
The 4GB/s throughput capacity option delivers up to 2x higher throughput and IO/s performance and offers 2x more in-memory and NVMe read caching, compared to the 2GB/s throughput capacity option. With the 4GB/s option, you can drive up to 4GB/s of read throughput and 160,000 IO/s from SSD storage (6GB/s of read throughput and 650,000 IO/s from the NVMe read cache) and up to 1.8GB/s of write throughput.
Available, user can create file systems with 4GB/s of throughput capacity and 160,000 SSD IO/s in the following AWS Regions: US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), and Europe (Ireland).
