History 2000: Dot Hill Had Two Co-CEOs, Now Back to One

Now it’s back to one, James Lambert, following the departure of Philip Black, 45, who had been Box Hill’s CEO since 1995, and subsequently a co-chief at Dot Hill, the new company which arose after least year’s merger between Artecon and Box Hill.
Maxoptix chairman Charles Christ is now also the COB of this other storage company. He replaces William R. Sauey, who will continue as a board director. The multihat wearing Christ is also on the board of Maxtor. He was previously CEO of Symbios, as well as VP and GM of Digital Equipment’s StorageWorks.
Dot Hill also recruited the former VP marketing at Hitachi Data Systems, Richard Search, as VP marketing and product management. Before moving to HDS, heh was VP of storage solutions engineering at Digital following 18 years of service with IBM.
