History 2000: Yansouni Moves for Lowe

President and COO Alan S. Lowe has replaced Cyril Yansouni as president and CEO of Read-Rite.

The latter, who has been COB and CEO for the past 9 years, will remain on as chairman.

Lowe joined the company in 1989 and held a variety of positions including VP sales, VP customer programs, SVP of customer business units, before being named president and COO in April 1997.

Note: Lowe is Lumentum’s president and CEO since its spin-off from JDSU in 2015 and was president of JDSU’s communications and commercial optical products business segment that ultimately became Lumentum from 2008. He joined JDSU in September 2007 as SVP of commercial lasers group. Before that, he was SVP customer solutions at Asyst Technologies, Inc., in automating semiconductor and flat panel display fabs, after leaving Read-Rite.
