Thecus NAS Support WD Ultrastar DC HC570 HDD
At 22TB
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 3, 2022 at 3:04 pmThecus Technology Corp. confirms that the WD Ultrastar DC HC570 HDDs with 22TB can be used in its every current NAS model.
These HDDs offer the biggest capacity for NAS to date and are supported to especially expand professional firm’s NAS systems in data centers.
The Ultrastar DC HC570 offers 22TB capacity in a standard 3.5-inch form factor and features the SATA interface. Western Digital’s OptiNAND technology for highest capacities uses ArmorCache, providing enterprise power loss protection and increased performance with 512MB DDR4 memory and embedded 64GB flash drive. This feature ensures that even with Write Cache enabled, there’s no risk of data loss even when power is interrupted, but providing performance similar to disabled DRAM cache.
With its reliable 8th-gen HelioSeal design, these HDDs run at low power for common data center sequential and random read/write workloads while using spindle speeds of 7,200rpm. The combination of its triple-stage actuator for the highest read-write head position accuracy, advanced magnetic recording technology to enable 2.2TB on a single disk and 10 disks inside this common form factor allows the Ultrastar DC HC570 to reach its highest capacity yet.
WD also projects 2.5 million hours MTBF and promises a 5-year limited warranty.
After compatibility testing with a large number of systems, the Ultrastar DC HC570 with 22TB for cloud and hyperscale storage is drop-in ready for every current Thecus NAS (and even many older models) to expand capacities and satisfy any storage-needy application or environment.
