Nyriad Joins Active Archive Alliance
For advancing use of active archive solutions for data lifecycle management
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on October 24, 2022 at 2:01 pmThe Active Archive Alliance announced that Nyriad, Inc. has joined its organization.
It is a collaboration of storage and IT vendors that collectively support the use of active archive solutions for data lifecycle management.
“Active archiving technology is constantly evolving as the marketplace demand for new data management strategies increases,” said Betsy Doughty, VP corporate marketing, Spectra Logic Corporation, and co-chairperson of the Active Archive Alliance. “Nyriad brings a unique perspective to the Alliance with its focus on delivering performant, resilient and efficient active archive solutions featuring the UltraIO storage system. We are pleased to welcome Nyriad to the Alliance.“
Active archives enable organizations to derive value from their vast and growing data sets and are an increasingly important part of data management roadmaps. An active archive leverages an intelligent data management layer and enables online access to data throughout its lifecycle, regardless of which tier it resides in the storage hierarchy. Active archive file systems span multiple media types, including flash, disk, tape, optical, or cloud (public or private), file, block or object storage systems.
Nyriad is the developer of the UltraIO storage system, a new system that combines the processing speed of GPUs and algorithms to deliver performance, resiliency, and efficiency. The UltraIO storage system achieves 18GB/s sustained ingest by leveraging intelligent data placement. These capabilities allow the system to be built on HDDs instead of the expensive SSD storage tier.
“We are excited to join other storage industry leaders in advancing the mission of the Active Archive Alliance,” said Derek Dicker, CEO, Nyriad. “We look forward to learning from, and collaborating with, other vendors in the Alliance as we all seek to advance active archive solutions for data lifecycle management.“
