Beth Phalen Board’s Director, Insurity
Former president of Dell EMC data protection division

She brings more than 25 years of experience leading software, technology, and analytics organizations.
In her most recent role as president of Dell EMC’s data protection division, she was responsible for all aspects of the business, including P&L management, strategy, partnerships, product development, and organizational governance. She led the data protection team through the Dell acquisition of EMC and the expanded scale of the Dell operating model. Her team enabled some of the world’s largest corporations to securely manage data in cloud environments. She also served for Dell on the board of the National Action Committee for Minorities in Engineering (NACME). Her earlier career included roles at IBM and Digital Equipment Corporation.
She received her Master’s in Computer Science from Brown University and a Bachelor’s from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). Her leadership skills, business acumen, and innovative approach to problem-solving saw her recognized by WPI as a recipient of the Robert H. Goddard Award for Outstanding Professional Achievement.
