CloudCasa by Catalogic and Ondat in Partnership
To protect Kubernetes
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 13, 2022 at 2:00 pmCatalogic Software, Inc. announced a partnership between its cloud native backup-as-a-service platform CloudCasa and Ondat, a Kubernetes-native data platform provider.
The combined solution provides customers with a unified solution to run stateful applications on Kubernetes without worrying about availability, performance, protection, or the recovery of data.
CloudCasa protects Kubernetes environments with a cyber-resilient, scalable backup and DR service for cloud native applications. Ondat is a container-native, SDS solution for Kubernetes, to run stateful workloads with HA, scale, and security. It is platform agnostic, requiring no changes to Kubernetes and enables users to virtualize any storage while providing snapshots, replication and failover for HA, and encryption of data at rest and in transit.
“The adoption of Kubernetes continues its rapid growth, with over 5.1 million developers worldwide now using it to manage containerized workloads and services. Kubernetes has numerous benefits including self-healing, load balancing and application centricity, but it also has challenges like managing storage and ensuring persistent volume data is protected,” said Sathya Sankaran, GM, CloudCasa. “We’re pleased to team up with Ondat to allow users to take back control of their persistent data layer in Kubernetes, and ensure their data is protected, compliant and available to be restored anywhere – on-premises, cloud, or hybrid.“
CloudCasa integrates natively with all Kubernetes storage platforms like Ondat, and managed Kubernetes services such as Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS). CloudCasa works with Ondat to take and manage snapshots to backup and restore Kubernetes Persistent Volumes (PVs). Along with data protection and recovery, CloudCasa provides cluster and cloud-aware backups allowing organizations to restore data across clusters, regions, cloud accounts and cloud providers, which is important in DR scenarios.
