To complement broadcast playout system
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on July 27, 2022 at 2:00 pmInfortrend Technology, Inc. announced its EonStor CS scale-out NAS has been selected by India’s M&E solution integrator to complement their broadcast playout system with performance, data protection, and all year round operation.
With over 2 decades of experience in M&E solution customizations, the integrator has a list of clients that include Netflix, Cisco, Facebook, local renowned TV stations, and with services including TV broadcasting, film production, post-production.
With specific broadcast playout storage needs, it needed the storage solution to support 80 playout channels to couple with playout server and broadcast playout software (OASYS, Broadstream solutions). In addition, the list of requirements also included at least 1PB of useable storage, ease of storage capacity expansion for growing M&E data, at least 2GB/s sustained throughput to ensure smooth playback, and most importantly, stability and availability to satisfy 24/7 all year round operation.
Infortrend offered 3 x 4U EonStor CS 4060 scale-out NAS storage system with node protection, each includes 4xSSDs to boost read/ write speeds. The 3x 4U NAS appliances provide 1PB of storage capacity and can further expand the performance and capacity via scale-out and scale-up.
Configured in erasure code for node protection, it ensures business-critical availability if one of the CS NAS appliances goes down, another will take over within seconds. and offer continuous services. Leveraging 4xSSDs as cache, the storage system can meet performance requirements without using a more expensive all-flash configuration.
“In response to our India customer specializing in M&E solution integration, the EonStor CS scale-out NAS is a great choice. It offers node protection plus RAID for disk protection. When you encounter node or disk failures, EonStor CS ensures the data is protected, and best of all, provides high performance continuous operation,” said Frank Lee, senior director of product planning.
