History (1999): California Court Rejected Suit Filed by Amstrad 1991

A California court has rejected a suit filed by Amstrad Plc in 1991, which alleged that Western Digital sold defective HDDs in 1988 and 1989.

Amstrad was seeking about $140 million and could still appeal.

The company previously sued Seagate Technology, which was forced to pay $131 million.
