Storage device and working temperature calculation method

Solid State Storage Technology Corp., Taipei, Taiwan, has been assigned a patent (11,320,878) developed by Chen, Shi-Xuan, Chiu, I-Hsiang, and He, Cheng-Chan, Taipei, Taiwan, for storage device and working temperature calculation method thereof.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: “A working temperature calculation method for a storage device of a server is provided. Firstly, n detected temperatures are converted into n transformed temperatures according to a composite temperature algorithm. If all of the n transformed temperatures are lower than a strengthen heat dissipation trigger temperature, the lowest temperature of the n transformed temperatures is set as a working temperature of the storage device. If at least one of the n transformed temperatures is higher than the strengthen heat dissipation trigger temperature, the highest temperature of the n transformed temperatures is set as the working temperature. When the storage device receives a temperature read command from the host, the storage device sends an information about the working temperature to the host, and the host controls a heat dissipation mode of the heat dissipation mechanism according to the working temperature.
