VeeamON: StorONE S1:Backup Qualified by Veeam
As Ready-Repository solution
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 27, 2022 at 2:00 pmStorONE, Inc. announced its S1:Backup solution has qualified as a Veeam Ready-Repository solution by Veeam Software, Inc.
By attaining Veeam Ready status, customers are assured that storage solutions are compatible with Veeam Backup and Replication features. S1:Backup has implemented a flash-first tier to lower RPO/RTO while safely using HDDs to deliver the lowest possible TCO. StorONE and Seagate will be presenting the S1:Backup for Veeam solution at VeeamON.
“Veeam Backup & Replication does great with modern storage technologies, and customers want the highest performance options for backup and restore,” said Rick Vanover, senior director of product strategy, Veeam. “S1:Backup being qualified as a Veeam Ready-Repository is a great milestone for backup use cases in the market. We look forward to StorONE achieving future Veeam Ready qualifications for the additional protocols supported, including Veeam Ready-Object with Immutability.“
StorONE’s S1:Backup provides following:
- Backup at speed of flash; while retaining the 10x price advantage of HDD
- Fast Instant Recovery with the automatic restoration of recovered VMs/Apps to the flash tier.
- No downtime with rapid recovery from failed HDDs
- Access to latest disk technology, supporting 20TB drives
- Standby Storage – Isolated recovery environment at backup storage prices
Optimize Veeam with StorONE S1:Backup
Veeam’s changed block tracking (CBT) enables rapid, frequent backups. S1:Backup’s Flash-First tier leverages StorONE’s S1:Engine to deliver hundreds of thousands of IO/s from 7 flash drives. Veeam customers can dial up their backup frequency without a performance hit while not breaking their budget. StorONE’s S1:Backup integrates 20TB HDDs, for long-term data retention. When a need arises for recovery, IT can use Veeam’s Instant Recovery feature, and S1:Backup will automatically instantiate the data on its flash tier for recovery and operation. The result is highly available, production class performance from backup storage infrastructure.
“At StorONE, we re-wrote and collapsed the storage IO stack to maximize modern hardware innovations’ performance and utilization, enabling us to address a variety of use cases,” said StorONE CEO and co- founder Gal Naor. “These advantages are very evident in the backup storage use case because it needs high performance and high capacity so customers can improve RPO and ransomware resiliency while reducing backup infrastructure costs.“
