History (1998): DataCore Software Born

By Jean Jacques Maleval | April 12, 2022 at 2:01 pmA team of former managers from Encore Computer, Amdahl and Blockbuster have joined forces to form DataCore Software Corp. to develop software that transforms Microsoft- and Intel-based systems into enterprise wide virtual storage network architecture.
Within the DataCore team are Ziya Aral, George Teixeira and John Bocksor, respectively the former CTO, manager of the product business group and VP of product development at Encore. Tim Logan, VP sales and marketing of the new venture, was a former VP storage sales at Amdahl. Lastly, DataCore’s CTO Al Detz previously held the same position at Blockbuster Entertainment.
The company has its HQ in Fort Lauderdale, FL, with a sales and marketing office in Silicon Valley.
