History (1998): Seagate Software Bought Eastman Software Storage Management Group in HSM

Both had developed applets for Windows NT 5.0.
SMG has particular expertise with HSM technology, developed initially by Avail Systems, and subsequently acquired by Wang.
SMG will join Seagate Software’s Network and Storage Management Group, but the latter division plans to maintain the SMG facility in Boulder, CO.
