History (1998): Veritas Completes Acquisition of Windward Technologies

Veritas Software has completed the acquisition of Windward Technologies, a company in Marlboro, MA, that perfected a failure prediction software to be integrated by Veritas in its own storage management products.

Through statistical analysis of hardware error messages, the Windward technology determines when HDD failure is imminent.
