Comments
All public storage shows are disappearing.
No one but FMS is scheduled this year, being consequently the #1 public storage event worldwide and since several years.
SNIA Europe in Germany, Storage Expo UK and Stockage in France disappear many years ago. There were also big shows with a lot of storage exhibitors at Sicob, Comdex or CeBIT, also dead. Today you can see some storage exhibitors in event like NAB, CES, Computex, and Supercomputing, not focused on storage and more vertically oriented. There are also some private shows organized by big vendors.
It will be difficult for FMS 2022 next August 2022 to be a success, as least reaching the following numbers like 140 sponsors and exhibitors and 6,200 visitors like in 2017.
Flash is obviously an excellent subject for an event, even if it's highly technical.
FMS was a virtual event in 2020, but not successful and no figures being revealed, and completely canceled in 2021. After two years like that, it's always difficult to pursue the same event.
The name of the current exhibitors is not published up to now on the FMS web site, so it's impossible to appreciate the success of the coming event.
The organization didn't decide to launch this event in Europe. But here was a Flash Memory World in 2021 in Hangzhou, China.
