History (1998): Lot of Companies Partnering With TeraStor
For Near Field Recording drive

Japanese firms Maxell and Tosoh signed on to develop and manufacture the surface magneto-optical media, like Imation before them.
For its part, Overland Data will incorporate TeraStor media cartridges in its automated libraries, and joins the long list of library makers that offer to do the same (ATL, DISC, Exabyte, Plasmon, Spectra Logic).

- Component makers: Hitachi and Silicon Systems (controllers), Olympus (optics models), Seagate (heads)
- Drive manufacturers: Mitsumi, Quantum
- Media manufacturers: Imation, Maxell, Tosoh
- Library manufacturers: ATL, DISC, Exabyte, Overland, Plasmon, Spectra Logic.
