History (1997): Top 100 Salaries in Silicon Valley

Each year, The San Jose Mercury News publishes its list of the top 100 salaries in Silicon Valley.

Andy Grove, CEO of Intel, crested at $97.9 million.

From among data storage firms only, the ≠1 this year is Al Shugart, COB and CEO of Seagate.

Also prominent on the list were an assortment of Read-Rite execs. Cyril Yansouni clocks in at only 10th place this year, after leading the category in 1995 with a total annual compensation of $9,020,850, with 3 other colleagues among the top 9.

This year, 5 members of the Seagate team have found their way within the top 6 places for storage companies.
