By Jean Jacques Maleval | October 14, 2021 at 1:31 pmSeagate Technology has invested $10 million in Gadzoox Microsystems, one of the rare supplier of a complete family of FC SANing (SAN) solutions.
Seagate will also take a seat on Gadzoox’s board of directors.
The partnership is focused on developing the SAN market through joint marketing and product development activities.
Last March, the 2 companies began collaborating with Interphase and W L. Gore to provide OEMs, VARs and system integrators by means of the industry’s first pre-integrated, turn-key package for deploying FC SANs. The kit includes all the equipment needed to configure a dual-host SAN topology: a Gadzoox FC-AL active hub, a Seagate Barracuda 9GB FC drive in a single disk enclosure, 2 Interphase 5526 PCI adapter cards with Windows NT drivers and copper FC cables from W L. Gore.
