Phison: August 2021 Financial Results

August 2021 revenue for Phison Electronics Corp. totaled NT$5.707 billion (the highest in a single month in history), up 4% from July 2021, while accumulated revenue for January to August 2021 reached NT$39.987 billion, record high for the same period in history.

The gradual resumption of operations of enterprises, factories, stores, and schools, coupled with the continuous popularization of 5G technology in various system applications, directly drives the related demand of the NAND storage industry.

Shipments of PCIe SSD controllers (currently in tight supply in the world) in August grew Y/Y by more than 250%, setting a new monthly high in history, and the total shipments of industrial memory modules grew by 40%. Accumulated throughout the year (January to August), they grew by 145%, another record high for the same period in history. The total annual growth rate of industrial memory module shipments is 36%, and the annual cumulative total memory bits shipments also grew by 50%, both of which set new historical highs over the same period.

August has entered the traditional third season peak season.

“Although there are many noises such as slowing demand in the market, the gradual resumption of operations of enterprises, factories, stores, and schools, coupled with the continuous popularization of 5G technology in various system applications, directly drives the related demand of the NAND storage industry,” according to the company. “In addition, the tight capacity of the semiconductor supply chain has not seen any signs of relief in the short term, and even the supply chain has continued to see price increases to reflect the supply and demand situation in the market.“
