Qnap 16-Bay TS-h1677XU-RP and 24-Bay TS-h2477XU-RP Rackmount NAS With Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processors and 10GbE Ports

Following the release of 9 and 12-bay models of the TS-hx77XU QuTS hero NAS series, Qnap Systems, Inc. extends the series lineup by introducing higher capacity 16-bay TS-h1677XU-RP and 24-bay TS-h2477XU-RP rackmount models.

Designed for small/medium businesses, these models feature AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-core processors, 2x10GbE ports, PCIe slots, and a redundant power supply to ensure continuous operations. Using the ZFS-based QuTS hero OS, both NAS deliver business-critical features and enable up to petabyte capacity per shared folder, providing a reliable yet cost-efficient NAS solution.

The TS-h1677XU-RP and TS-h2477XU-RP use the Ryzen 7 3700X 8 cores/16 threads 3.6GHz processor (Turbo Core 4.4GHz), support AES-NI encryption acceleration and up to 128GB DDR4 RAM for empowering multi-tasking capabilities and VM performance. Both NAS models include 2 iSER-enabled 10GbE SFP+ SmartNIC ports, which can work with SSD caching to boost IO/s performance and 10GbE potential for optimizing business virtualization, large file sharing, high-speed backup/restoration, and multimedia editing/transfer. Connectivity can also be increased by installing various PCIe cards, including 10/25GbE network cards for adding network I/O ports, QM2 cards for adding M.2 SSD slots, FC cards for SAN storage, and QXP storage expansion cards for connecting storage expansion enclosures.

QuTS hero focuses on data integrity and features self-healing capabilities. It provides multiple RAID configurations with RAID ‘Triple Parity’ and ‘Triple Mirror’ to enhance data protection. Inline data de-dupe, compression, and compaction reduce the overall storage footprint while improving both random write performance and SSD lifespan. Supporting up to 65,535 snapshots allows for snapshot versioning protection.

Additional SSD-optimizing features include Write Coalescing, TRIM, and Pool Over-provisioning to assist in attaining the highest performance and lifespan from SSD investments.

The inclusive App Center provides various install-on-demand apps to further expand the NAS application potential – such as hosting virtual machines and containers, simplifying local/remote/cloud backups, implementing a backup solution for Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, centralizing VMware and Hyper-V virtual machine backups, setting up a cloud storage gateway to deploy hybrid cloud applications, and much more.
