History (1996): WD Expected to Deliver 3-Inch HDD With 1GB Single Platter

Following an agreement with JTS, Western Digital is expected to deliver a new 3-inch HDD drive with a single 1GB platter in the course of 4Q96.

A removable version of the drive is planned a few months later.
