History (1996): Ray S. AbuZayyad Retired

Ray S. AbuZayyad retired this past July.

The long-time veteran of the storage industry was most recently head of the HDD activity at IBM storage systems division, reporting to Jim Vanderslice.

When IBM decided to create a new and separate storage division in July 1990, which, two years later, became AdStar, AbuZayyad was named the first GM.
