A management node constructs a blank metadata database and sets the metadata database to an inaccessible state, reads backup data of configuration data and adds the backup data to the metadata database, obtains index data of data stored in the storage node and adds the index data to the metadata database, and sets the metadata database to an accessible state so as to cause the metadata database to resume service. It can be seen that, after applying the solution, when a metadata database is damaged, a metadata database is reconstructed, and the configuration data and the index data are obtained and added to the reconstructed database, realizing the recovery of the metadata.
