MediaTek Singapore Pte. Ltd., Singapore, Singapore, has been assigned a patent (11,010,094) developed by Kung, Mao-Tien, Chiang, Chia-Chen, Li, Meng-Yu, Chen, Chun-Hung, and Lee, Chen-Chung, Taoyuan, Taiwan, for “task management method and host for electronic storage device.“

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”A task management method is disclosed. The method includes sending a query command by a host to an electronic storage device at a variable interval to determine a status of a task queue of the electronic storage device, obtaining a response information. The response information includes a status of the task queue, and the status of the task queue includes an information about whether a task preparation in the task queue is to be completed.”

The patent application was filed on February 11, 2019 (16/273,083).

Security mechanism for multi-client access to single storage device through single controller
MediaTek Inc., Hsinchu, Taiwan, has been assigned a patent (11,005,936) developed by Liu, Szu-Chi, Wang, Liang-Yen, and Jhu, Yuan-Sheng, Hsinchu, Taiwan, for a “security mechanism for multi-client access to a single storage device through a single controller.“

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”Examples and techniques pertaining to a security mechanism for multi-client access to a single storage device through a single controller are described. A controller receives a request from a first client of a plurality of clients to access a storage device which stores data associated with the plurality of clients. The controller determines one or more aspects with respect to the first client. The controller then performs one of a plurality of operations including: (a) granting the first client access the storage device responsive to a positive result of the determining, and (b) rejecting the request responsive to a negative result of the determining. The storage device is divided into a plurality of partitions to store respective data associated with each of the plurality of clients in one or more respective partitions of the plurality of partitions.”
