Qnap Systems, Inc. launched the QXG-10G2T-X710 10GbE network expansion card.

Featuring an Intel Ethernet Controller X710, tit is a PCIe Gen 3 card (compatible with PCIe Gen 2) that can be installed in a the company’s NAS or a Windows/Linux PC to add 2 10GbE ports.

It supports is compatible with 5 speeds (10/5/2.5/1Gb/s/100Mb/s) and can achieve up to 20Gb/s transfer speeds by using both ports with Port Trunking. Network efficiency is boosted with SR-IOV and iSCSI support, and I/O-intensive and latency-sensitive virtualization applications and data centers will benefit. The card is also a match for the firm’s 10GbE switches to build a budget-friendly high-speed network environment.

“The QXG-10G2T-X710 network card offers home and business users a fantastic way to upgrade to 10GbE for greater performance and stability“, said Stanley Huang, product manager. “The QXG-10G2T-X710 is also compatible with 5GbE/2.5GbE/1GbE, and can be used with Qnap switches for easily building high-speed network environments.“

When installed in a Windows or Linux PC, users must install the QXG-10G2T-X710 driver. No driver is required when installing in a the company’s NAS, but QTS 4.5.2/QuTS hero h4.5.1 (or later) is required.
