History (1996): Gary Potts Acting President and CEO, Maxoptix

Bob Root has resigned as CEO of Maxoptix (Fremont, CA) last August but remains on the board of directors.

Gary Potts, 47, has been appointed as new acting president and CEO. He was previously CFO and GM of the operations division of the company.

As a result of this restructuring, Mitchell Cipriano, 34, has been promoted to GM of the NWorks product line of optical storage solutions for the networked computing environment. Howard Wing, 50, will head the OEM division who has served in senior management positions with Conner Peripherals and Storage Technology.
