Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) is a solution category that features data replication and recovery of server workloads to a cloud environment. Solutions can be fully managed or self-service. Replication and recovery can be automated through software as well. The target location and cloud infrastructure that workloads are replicated and recovered with can be owned by the provider or a third-party. While there are variables in play with these components, they all must be included in the solution to be a true as-a-service product.
