Gary Merrill Chief Business Operations, Commvault

Promoted from VP operations, annual base salary raised to $400,000

Commvault MerrillCommvault Systems, Inc. promoted Gary Merrill, 46, VP of operations, to the role of chief – business operations, effective April 1, 2021.

 

 

 

He served as VP of operations of the company from April 2019 through March 2021. Prior to that, he served as the company’s VP finance, chief accounting officer from December 2012 to March 2019. He was corporate controller of the company from 2007 to 2012 and assistant controller from 2005 to 2007.

In his role as chief – business operations, he will be responsible for designing and driving operating plans to deliver on its strategy across its global operations. His responsibilities will include financial planning & analysis, business operations, as well as the customer success management and renewals teams.

In connection with this promotion, his annual base salary has been raised to $400,000 and he will be eligible to receive a cash bonus of up to 50% of his annual base salary, subject to the achievement of certain performance criteria. He is eligible to receive awards under the company’s 2016 Omnibus Incentive Plan, as amended and it is anticipated that he will receive a long-term incentive award with an estimated value of $1,000,000 at the upcoming award cycle, subject to approval by the compensation committee and associated vesting requirements.

There are no arrangements or understandings between Merrill and any other persons, pursuant to which he was appointed as chief – business operations, no family relationships among any of the company’s directors or executive officers and he has no direct or indirect material interest in any transaction required to be disclosed pursuant to Item 404(a) of Regulation S-K.
