History (1995): The Cerplex Group Completed Acquisition of Peripheral Computer Support fo $20 Million

The Cerplex Group (Tustin, CA) has completed the acquisition of Peripheral Computer Support (PCS), headquartered in San Jose, CA, with a wholly-owned subsidiary in Frankfurt, Germany.

Founded in 1986, PCS is an independent 5.25- to sub 2.5-inch HDD repair and service company with revenues of approximately $20 million including its European subsidiary over the past 12 months.

The company is also involved in the repair and service of CD-ROMs, floppy disk drives and electronic cards.

Tu Nguyen, co-founder, will remain with PCS as president.

The Cerplex Group, under the direction of Richard C. Davis, is a provider of electronic repair and parts logistics services.

Note: In 1998, Holly Acquisition Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aurora Electronics, Inc., merged with and into The Cerplex Group, Inc. This later filed for bankruptcy protection in 2001.
