History (1994): 14.8GB, Record for Optical Disk
By Eastman Kodak
By Jean Jacques Maleval | February 2, 2021 at 2:17 pmEastman Kodak (Rochester, NY) has pushed the capacity limits of its 14-inch WORM disk from 10.2 to 14.8GB on its 2 sides.

This sets a new record for optical disks. ATG Cygnet is now second to Kodak with its 10.2GB, 12-inch WORM disk.
Kodak’s new 2000 drive uses highest density support and is capable of reading old 6.8GB media and reading and writing 10.2GB media.
The drive, costing $44,900, could be integrated into the company’s jukeboxes, thereby powerful enough to reach a maximum of 2TB.
