Open Text SA ULC, Halifax, Canada , has been assigned a patent (10,853,425) developed by Raghavan, Srikanth, Ashburn, VA, and Scott, Michael, Washington Grove, MD, for “systems and methods for managed asset distribution in a distributed heterogeneous storage environment.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”Embodiments of systems and methods for the rules based distribution of managed content across heterogeneous storage distributed in a network environment are disclosed. In particular, certain embodiments may employ entity rules in association with a content management system. An entity rule may be a rule specifying a set of parameters and a destination secondary storage location. When the entity rule is evaluated by the content system, a set of content managed by the content management system responsive to the rule may be determined using the parameters of the rule. Responsive content can be determined, for example, by searching the content of the content management system based on the parameters. Responsive content may be moved from the primary storage location of the content management system to the secondary storage location specified by the entity rule.”

Content server make disk image operation
Open Text SA ULC, Halifax, Canada, has been assigned a patent (10,838,822) developed by Pidduck, Patrick Thomas Sidney, Waterloo, Canada, and Boyd, Laura Helene, Kitchener, Canada, for “systems and methods for content server make disk image operation.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”Responsive to a request from a user device, a content server may perform an electronic discovery function. The request may include information on a quantity of data objects desired from a collection of data objects stored in a repository. Objects stored in the repository may be managed by the content server. The content server may determine a number of batches and process the collection of data objects into batches, each having a batch size. An efficient selection process may be determined and utilized in selecting data objects from each of the batches such that a total number of data objects selected from the collection is not less than the quantity of data objects desired. The content server may make a disk image of the selected data objects and communicate same to the user device over a network.”
