History (1994): Maxtor President and CEO Larry Hootnick Resigns

"I simply want to be able to spend less time on the road than would be required."

HootnickPresident and CEO Laurence R. Hootnick will resign from those positions at Maxtor Corp. (San Jose, CA), and as the director, effective upon the completion of the company’s annual meeting, August 18.

 

The board has asked COO J. Larry Smart and other members of management to assume additional responsiilities in the interim.

At this point in my career, I simply want to be able to spend less time on the road than would be required. I decided this would therefore be an appropriate time to step aside as CEO,” Hootnick said.
