Fujitsu Unveils PrimeFlex for Azure Stack HCI Purpose-Built for Hyper-Converged Environments
Pre-tested PrimeFlex infrastructure lets organizations connect on-premises data center to Azure.

Designed to harness the available Azure Stack HCI OS‘s capabilities, this pre-configured hardware and software solution enables organizations to modernize their on-premises data centers. PrimeFlex for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI provides cloud-native features and cloud-like management, plus a direct in-built connection to Azure services to allow hybrid IT environments. The latest addition to PrimeFlex line-up further extends the company’s range of integrated solutions for hyper-converged environments.
Microsoft Corp. has purpose-built the Azure Stack HCI OS to give customers an easy path to hybrid cloud, with in-built Azure connectivity, subscription-based licensing, features for DR through stretched clusters as well as Kubernetes capabilities. This OS lets organizations connect their virtualized on-premises applications with convenient cloud-based services such as backup and recovery, monitoring, identity management, and security. Therefore, businesses can take advantage of cloud computing while keeping sensitive data on-premises. Delivered as an Azure service with familiar management tools, customers can easily manage hybrid workloads and scale IT infrastructures flexibly, and cap costs.

Fujitsu, as a Microsoft launch partner, is offering PrimeFlex for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI to speed up implementation and enable hybrid cloud environments. This ready-made architecture combines all the hardware and software needed to deploy hybrid infrastructures with Azure Stack HCI. With optimized and Microsoft certified components for computing, storage, and network connectivity, the integrated system bridges the gap between on-premises and Azure to support traditional and cloud-native workloads.
PrimeFlex for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI starts at two server nodes and offers the capacity to scale to a large enterprise’s needs. It is an intuitive choice for various uses, including branch office and edge deployments, VDIs, high-performance SQL servers, enterprise virtualization, and containerized applications. Integrated HA, DR, security, and cloud-based backup capabilities provide data protection and eliminate business disruptions due to downtime.
The company also delivers Azure services as an Microsoft Global System Integrator and Cloud Solution Provider to their customers and now with the HCI-OS service model, a more integrated approach can be delivered with Fujitsu’s hybrid and multi-cloud services for on-demand, self-service computing resources to migrate and modernize existing apps and to build new cloud-native apps

Talal Alqinawi, senior director, Azure marketing, Microsoft, said: “Fujitsu PrimeFlex for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI is an example of how our customers can extend their data center to the cloud and use the Microsoft Azure Portal to manage cross-cluster capabilities and add hybrid services such as Azure Backup, Azure Monitor and Azure Security Center. Customers gain access to a truly hybrid environment based on tested hardware and software and can continue to run Windows and Linux VMs in their data center or at the edge, using familiar tools, processes, and skillsets.“
Alongside the PrimeFlex for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI, the company will continue to offer an integrated systems solution for customers running Windows Server 2019. This solution will now be sold under the brand PrimeFlex for Microsoft Storage Spaces Direct.
All PrimeFlex solutions are pre-tested and pre-integrated, making them quick to implement, easy to manage, and cost-efficient. With a range of options for different requirements, organizations can build the right infrastructure for their needs. The PrimeFlex for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI will be available to order globally in early 2021.
