Tuxera Assigned Patent
Fail-safe operations of storage device
By Francis Pelletier | December 22, 2020 at 2:12 pmTuxera, Inc., Espoo, Finland, has been assigned a patent (10,846,271) developed by Altaparmakov, Anton Ivanov, Great Chesterford, Great Britain, and Szakacsits, Szabolcs, Helsinki, Finland, for a “storage constrained synchronization engine.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”Techniques for enabling fail-safe operations of storage devices are described. A device may be configured to deallocate one or more clusters assigned to an inode by writing an end of chain terminator value into a new last cluster of a file allocation table entry. In one example, a device may update an allocation bitmap subsequent to writing an end of chain terminator value into a new last cluster of a file allocation table entry. In one example, a device may mark remain clusters as free subsequent to writing an end of chain terminator value into a new last cluster of a file allocation table entry. A device may be configured to allocate clusters to an inode by writing file access table entries for newly allocated clusters.”
The patent application was filed on May 5, 2017 (15/587,637).
