Wipro Assigned Two Patents

Realtime optimization of load on plurality of backup storage devices, data compression and storage optimization

Realtime optimization of load on plurality of backup storage devices
Wipro Limited, Bangalore, India, has been assigned a patent (10,817,198) developed by Abdul Kadar, Mohideen, Tiruchirappalli, India, and Achar, Chandramohan, Bangalore, India, for “method and system for realtime optimization of load on plurality of backup storage devices.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: The present disclosure is related to field of data backup in storage environment, and a method and system for dynamically controlling backup data on storage devices. A data allocating system may pool storage devices and backup data corresponding to client devices. Further performance parameters of storage devices may be evaluated for a pre-set time period based on which a rank is assigned to each of the plurality of storage devices based on performance parameters. Upon assigning the rank, the load characteristics and performance characteristics may be evaluated for each client device for the pre-set time period based on which a performance load index is determined for each client device. Finally, backup data of each client device may be dynamically allocated to each storage device by correlating rank and performance load index. The present disclosure reduces load on single storage device and increases efficiency by reducing delay in backing up data.

Data compression and data storage optimization
Wipro Limited, Bangalore, India
, has been assigned a patent (10,802,719) developed by Das, Rishav, Howrah, India, for “method and system for data compression and data storage optimization.

The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: This disclosure relates to method and system for data compression and data storage optimization. The method of compression may include converting each data block into a matrix, compressing each data block by processing the corresponding matrix to form a minimum state matrix based on a sequential set of compression rules, deriving a granular metadata for each data block based on the corresponding minimum state matrix, and storing the granular metadata and the sequential set of compression rules for each data block. Further, the method of decompression may include accessing a granular metadata and a sequential set of compression rules for each data block, deriving a minimum state matrix for each data block based on the corresponding granular metadata, decompressing each data block by processing the corresponding minimum state matrix to form a matrix based on the sequential set of compression rules, and building each data block from the corresponding matrix.

The patent application was filed on July 31, 2018 (16/049,878).
