- Expands cloud choices by enabling clients to store backup data and IBM Spectrum Protect database backups in Google Cloud Storage (GCS)
- Opens Spectrum Protect storage to modern applications by enabling Amazon S3 capable applications to store directly to the Spectrum Protect data repository
- Adds Spectrum Protect Snapshot support for hardware snapshot functionality in FlashSystems 9200 HyperSwap Unix and Linux configurations
- Provides the ability to create a second copy of the backup repository and store it on tape for air gap protection vs. cyberattacks
- Updates Spectrum Protect for Enterprise Resource Planning SAP certification and adds support for Backint for SAP HANA interface (HANA-BRINT 1.5)
IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.7:
- Introduces support for Red Hat OpenShift
- Offers enhanced overall Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes support by adding protection for clusters and Kubernetes metadata saved in etcd
- Provides the ability to recover Kubernetes and OpenShift workloads in alternate locations
- Provides the ability to recover data (persistent volume claims) and metadata saved in etcd in the event of a disaster
- Containerizes the Spectrum Protect Plus Server and provides a Red Hat Operator to enable deployment in OpenShift environments
- Expands Container Storage Interface (CSI) driver support to include support and OpenShift Container Storage (OCS) Ceph RADOS Block Devices (RBD)
- Enhances Windows file system support with performance and scalability improvements
IBM Copy Data Management 2.2.12:
- Adds support for Oracle Automatic Storage Management Cluster File System on AIX
- Adds performance improvements for supported company’s devices
- Adds support for Purity CloudSnap and Purity ActiveCluster for Pure Storage
- Adds support for HPE Nimble Storage
In Software Announcement 220-277, dated June 9, 2020, support for Oracle databases running on Oracle ACFS was erroneously announced as a feature of Spectrum Protect and Spectrum Protect Plus. It is only a feature of IBM Copy Data Management.
