By Francis Pelletier | November 18, 2020 at 2:06 pmLyteLoop Technologies LLC, Great Neck, NY, has been assigned a patent (10,812,880) developed by Damaghi, Daniel, Great Neck, NY, Harlev, Ohad, Closter, NJ, Litvin, Ariel, Great Neck, NY, Willner, Alan, Los Angeles, CA, Barak, Naftaly, Petah-Tikva, Israel, McManamon, Paul, Dayton, OH, and McGuffin, Asher, Lexington, MA, for “data in motion storage system and method.“
The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: ”A data storage system is disclosed that includes a recirculating loop storing data in motion. The data may be carried by a signal via the loop including one or more satellites or other vessels that return, for example by reflection or regeneration, the signals through the loop. The loop may also include a waveguide, for example an optical fiber, or an optical cavity. Signal multiplexing may be used to increase the contained data. The signal may be amplified at each roundtrip and sometimes a portion of the signal may be regenerated.”
The patent application was filed on March 21, 2017 (15/465,356).
