HubStor Extends Backup-as-a-Service Offering
With support for Hyper-V and Azure VMs
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 13, 2020 at 2:09 pmHubStor, Inc. announced the availability of its Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) offering for Azure VMs and Hyper-V VM backup, replication, and archiving.
It continues to enhance how companies protect their data. By leveraging BaaS, customers can enjoy reliable data protection with the scalability to meet any operational workload, while slashing costs compared to traditional backup approaches.
Extending support to include Azure and Hyper-V VMs was the logical choice to expand HubStor’s capabilities in the VM backup market. HubStor is Microsoft co-sell ready, and its software-as-a-service solution runs on Azure. The company delivers a BaaS solution on Azure, providing organizations with a streamlined approach to help ensure that their data and virtual environments are protected.
“I am excited about HubStor’s BaaS platform offering backup and recovery for Hyper-V and Microsoft Azure VM environments,” said Geoff Bourgeois, CEO. “The more our customers can accomplish with HubStor, the more they can streamline their IT operations while reducing their IT spend through an authentic SaaS experience and transparent, usage-based pricing for all things backup and archive.“
HubStor provides solutions for IT companies who are looking for a more straightforward approach to protecting their virtual and physical environments. For data protection, this can mean a shift away from on-premises backup storage, replication, and tape vaulting practices, and toward a cloud-based BaaS architecture.
“Microsoft’s Hyper-V and Azure VMs are mission-critical infrastructure for many businesses,” said Arpan Shah, GM, Azure. “By enabling Azure-based cloud backup of virtual and hybrid environments, HubStor provides an extra layer of data protection. Solutions like HubStor’s help to bring Azure’s cloud capabilities to even more customers across the globe.“
Customers can configure the retention period for their backup sets along with their storage tiering policy. For organizations that need to retain backups for long periods, simple tiering policies available in the HubStor service allow customers to take advantage of Azure Blob Storage automatically.
HubStor’s 15-minute setup process for its agentless BaaS allows IT administrators to begin protecting their VMs without a time-consuming onboarding and set-up process. The SaaS design of the solution provides simple data protection architecture, with the ability to recover VMs anywhere. BaaS for VMs auto-discovers newly-created VMs and has them inherit backup policies automatically.
Microsoft partners can offer HubStor’s BaaS solution for Azure VMs and Hyper-V VMs, along with new or existing workloads, on the same unified data platform.
