Qumulo Named Leader in Gartner Magic Quadrant for Distributed File Systems and Object Storage

For third-time

Qumulo, Inc. announced its position as a leader in the 2020 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Distributed File Systems and Object Storage for the third consecutive year.

Gartner, Inc. positioned Qumulo in the leaders quadrant based on its ability to execute and its completeness of vision.

“Today’s organizations are fueling innovation and driving discoveries by embracing digitalization and cloud computing. The Qumulo file data platform is at the heart of these strategic initiatives,” said Bill Richter, CEO. “Our vision of making it easy for customers to store, manage and build with file data at massive scale continues to be unwavering. We believe Gartner’s recognition of Qumulo validates our vision and our ability to execute against it.”

In the Magic Quadrant for Distributed File Systems and Object Storage report issued recently, Gartner analysts Julia Palmer, Jerry Rozeman, Robert Preston, Chandra Mukhyala, and Jeff Vogel noted that “IT leaders are looking to deliver cost-effective, scalable and flexible storage platforms for growing amounts of unstructured data.”

Organizations select Qumulo to help them accomplish their roadmap goalswith a software-defined file system developed to offer flexibility and designed to run in small offices on the edge, in the data center, and natively on the public cloud infrastructure. As data is increasingly stored outside the data center, Qumulo makes storage simple with built-in data management capabilities.

As recently stated in Gartner’s 2020 Strategic Roadmap for Storage1, “By 2024,

  • Large enterprises will triple their unstructured data stored as file or object storage on-premises, at the edge or in the public cloud, compared to 2020.
  • 50% of the global storage capacity will be deployed as SDSvon-premises or on the public cloud, up from less than 15% in 2020.
  • More than 30% of enterprise storage capacity will be remotely managed outside of enterprise data centers, up from less than 5% in 2020.”

Fortune 500 companies, major film and animation studios, and some of large research facilities rely on Qumulo to manage billions of files. The company maintains one of the highest Net Promoter Scores (NPS) consistently over 85.

Many customers have added their thoughts to Gartner Peer Insights, where Qumulo has an overall rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars in the Distributed File Systems and Object Storage market, based on 14 reviews, as of 19 October 2020.
