The TrueNAS Open Storage portfolio from iXsystems, Inc. expanded with the TrueNAS Mini-X storage appliance, optimized for storage at the edge.

Designed for remote, branch and other office environments, the appliance utilizes TrueNAS Open Storage OS 12.0 Core edition, the latest gen open storage OS featuring security and management with compelling price/performance.

TrueNAS Mini-X edge storage systems support organizations looking to stay ahead of their data requirements. The 2 new storage systems (Mini-X+ and Mini-X) provide between 16-75TB of storage in a compact chassis with 7 hot swap drive bays (5×3.5” and 2×2.5″). The Mini-X storage platform is designed to address a range of office/edge requirements for block, file, and unstructured data storage.

The TrueNAS Mini-X+ includes 8 cores, between 32-64GB of DDR4 ECC memory, USB 3.1 connectivity, 2xRJ45 10GbE and 1xRJ45 IPMI port network interfaces. This system is capable of supporting video editing, backup and file sharing applications with over 1GB/s of bandwidth at less than 100W per unit.

The TrueNAS Mini-X includes 4 cores, between 16-32GB of DDR4 ECC memory, USB 3.1 connectivity, 4xRJ45 GbE, and 1xRJ45 IPMI port network interfaces. The system uses less than 80W of power.

For office environments at the edge, the company created this compact storage solution powered by TrueNAS to support a range of operating environments with a single, flexible system. The ready-to-deploy TrueNAS Mini includes enclosure management that provides a visual status of all disk drives and oversight of applications such as Plex, NextCloud, Asigra and Iconik, deployable as either plugins or VMs.
