History (1992): Conner Peripherals in China Venture

Conner Peripherals (San Jose, CA) and China Electronics Corp. (Chinatron) have negotiated a joint venture that could start manufacturing 40MB 3.5-inch HDDs at the end of the year, in a 100,000-square-foot factory in Shekou, China, near Hong Kong.
