1big Dock and 1big Dock SSD Pro
The 1big Dock SSD Pro and 1big Dock enable professionals to streamline and optimize their studio workflow with a complete desktop storage solution.
Designed by Neil Poulton, the 1big Dock SSD Pro (two and 4TB SSD capacities) and 1big Dock (four, eight, and 16TB HDD capacities) add to the company’s line of versatile storage systems built for creative professionals.
Performance for data-intense projects
1big Dock SSD Pro front and rear
1big Dock SSD Pro is for editing data-intense 6K, 8K, super slow motion, uncompressed video, and VFX content. The 1big Dock SSD Pro leans on Seagate’s FireCuda NVMe SSD and Thunderbolt 3 to deliver read speeds of up to 2,800MB/s. It streamlines workflow with 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports that are USB-C compatible, and a docking station including 1 built-in USB 3.0 port, cinema-grade memory card slots (CFast 2.0, CFexpress, and SD), and a DisplayPort 1.4 output connection. It is the peripheral for most professional cinema cameras including brands like ARRI, Blackmagic, RED, and Canon.
Streamline desktop setups
1big Dock front and rear
Offering many of the same features as the 1big Dock SSD Pro and the capacity of a 4, 8, or 16TB HDD, the 1big Dock also features direct ingestion of content from SD cards, CompactFlash cards, and USB devices. It streamlines the 4K video filmmakers’ studio by serving as the hub of all peripherals and connects the workstation with a single cable eliminating the need for extra dongles or adapters
Power management
The 1big Dock SSD Pro and 1big Dock can deliver up to 45W of power to a laptop or 30W when daisy-chaining compatible devices. The firm’s Power Pass-Through feature offers even more charge for a laptop. Daisy-chain the laptop’s USB-C power cable to the 1big Dock and the laptop can receive up to 70W. This also frees up an USB-C port on the computer.
With a 5-year limited warranty with Rescue Data Recovery Services and complimentary 1-month Adobe Creative Cloud All-Apps plan (a $52.99 value), the 1big Dock SSD Pro will retail for $1,349 (2TB) and $2,599 (4TB) and the 1big Dock for $369 (4TB), $469 (8TB), and $679 (16TB). Both products will be available in July 2020.
