History (1992): StorageTek to Buy Edata Scandinavia

Storage Technology Corp. (Louisville, CO) has signed an agreement to buy its best distributor in North Europe, Edata Scandinavia AB (Danderyd, Sweden) for about $75 million.

Edata’s annual sales reach $68 million with almost three quarters realized with StorageTek’s products it sold in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands.

As for Storage Technology, it owns European subsidiaries in France, Germany, Switzerland and UK.
