Replication uses the company’s proprietary image backup technology with built-in changed block tracking. The process first creates a bootable disk in a customer’s Azure storage account. Incremental snapshots can be scheduled as frequently as required (e.g. every 15-30mn) with no limit to the number saved. Each incremental creates a recovery point-in-time. If an incremental fails for any reason, it’s self healing with the next incremental including all changed blocks correctly.

Users can launch one or more replicated servers in Sandbox Mode to test their operation or in Run Mode to failover or migrate all at once. The company’s Cloud Management App (UCMA) can be run from anywhere to select a replicated server and a point-in-time to test or run. Launching a server takes 1-3 mn in which a VM is created, configured, its disk(s) attached, and run. Exiting the UCMA automatically deletes all Sandbox VMs to protect vs. excessive compute charges. Running a server temporarily in Sandbox Mode does not affect its failover capability.

The company’s solution can be downloaded for evaluation from the firm’s website. Installation takes about 30mn. Replication requires creating a full and incremental backup, your Azure account credentials, and a reboot.

Replication is available by annual subscription and for a limited time includes the company’s image backup with DR for onsite DR with WinPE-based bare metal DR and dissimilar hardware restore.
