Workspot Introduces Cloud Desktop Capabilities for BC and DR

These include the industry’s multi-region DR solution, capabilities for cloud desktop backup and recovery, and a cloud-based DR solution for physical PCs. These capabilities support business resilience in the event of natural disasters, health emergencies such as COVID-19, or even the loss or theft of a laptop, ensuring employees can remain safe as well as productive.

With this latest product release, the firm delivers 3 options to strengthen BC capabilities for enterprises:

• One-click recovery: With One-click DR solution, companies can ensure employees have access to cloud desktops pre-provisioned with the appropriate image and applications in the event they are unable to access their physical PC. These virtual desktops reside in the Azure cloud region of choice, but the customer does not pay for full usage until they’re enabled. One-click activation by the in-house IT team offers the opportunity to exceed RTOs for PC users.

• Cloud desktop backup and recovery: With Cloud Desktop Backup, companies can now create one or more snapshots of each user’s desktop in the same cloud region to enable rollback in the event of viruses, ransomware, patch errors or other issues. This capability can also be used to meet legal requirements for data/desktop state preservation for compliance or e-discovery purposes.

• Multi-region resiliency: For the first time companies now can keep an up-to-date cloud desktop backup in a separate cloud region, which can be turned on in a matter of minutes to ensure BC if their primary cloud region becomes unavailable for any reason.
